Valerie Shaw

Legal Assistant & Office Manager

Valerie was born here in Augusta, Georgia and attended Greenbrier High School. She graduated, with honors, from Augusta State University in 2014 as a double major with degrees in Psychology and Criminal Justice. Valerie joined Klosinski Overstreet, LLP in 2011 and worked part time through college as the runner and receptionist. Valerie is now the administrative assistant to attorney, James C. Overstreet, Jr. and primarily assists in the areas of bankruptcy, collection, commercial and civil litigation, along with some corporate and probate work.

Jennifer Drawdy

Paralegal

Jennifer was born and raised in the CSRA. In 2017, she graduated from Augusta Technical College with an associate degree in Paralegal Studies. After gaining over five years of experience within all different areas of law, she now works as a Paralegal assisting in the areas of bankruptcy, litigation, wills and probate.

In Jennifer’s spare time, she loves spending time with her family and friends, learning new recipes to cook at home, and attending concerts and baseball games.

Candice Petrea

Legal Assistant

Candice is a lifelong resident of CSRA. She is the mama to two rescue dogs and a teenage daughter, all of which she adores. She worked at Klosinski Overstreet as a runner briefly in 2019. She enjoy quiet evenings at home sitting outside listening to music, long drives, binge watching tv shows and enjoys hanging out with friends on the weekends. As an avid Georgia Bulldog and Atlanta Braves fan she loves going to baseball games whenever she can whether it is the Braves or the GreenJackets.

Candice assists attorneys Matt Padget and Bowen Klosinski with Magistrate Court cases and civil matters.

Brittnee Duerr

Legal Assistant

Brittnee A. Duerr’s focus at the firm is assisting attorneys with probate and superior matters as well as being an assistant to attorney Scott J. Klosinski.

With a passion for customer service, Brittnee is dedicated to each and every client here at Klosinski Overstreet. She was born in New Brunswick NJ, moved to the CSRA in 2010 and began her education in 2020 pursuing a paralegal degree.

Charla Atkinson

Closing Coordinator

Charla grew up in Alabama and graduated from Gadsden Business College with a degree as an Advanced Executive Secretary. She moved to Augusta, Georgia and began working for a real estate attorney in 1985. Charla’s eager to please attitude, along with her efficiency and accuracy, earned her an exemplary reputation among realtors and builders, as well as the other real estate attorneys in Augusta. She has attended management seminars and title insurance seminars on a continuous basis. Charla is the closing coordinator of the real estate department.

Ann Megan

Commercial Closing Coordinator

Ann Megan is originally from Charlotte, NC. She graduated from Davidson College and is married with 4 children and 4 stepchildren. At Klosinski Overstreet, Ann Megan handles commercial real estate closings and works with builders who do construction loan closings.

Phelps Hunnicutt

Real Estate Liaison

Phelps is an Augusta native, graduating from Augusta Prep in 2016. After high school, he attended Sewanee: The University of the South in Tennessee where he majored in Political Science and Religious Studies while playing football for the university. Phelps joined Klosinski Overstreet, LLP in 2021, and currently serves as the pre-closer for the real estate department where he assists in opening stages of the closing process. Outside of the office, Phelps coaches football for his high school alma mater and enjoys playing disc golf at Augusta’s many courses.

Michael Sanders

Post Closer

Michael was born and raised in Augusta, GA. He received his High School diploma from Curtis Baptist High School and is currently studying History as a senior at Augusta University. His father, James E. Sanders, was born in Allendale, SC, and raised in Newark, NJ. His mother was born and raised in Augusta, GA. Michael has a large family of six siblings and a host of nieces and nephews. He enjoys playing golf, reading biographical books, traveling, going to social events, and collecting MLB baseball player cards. Michael Sanders is the runner at Klosinski Overstreet. His responsibilities include disbursing closing packages to the lender and communicating with lenders regarding the final processes of the closing.

Yolanda Tiemann

Preclosing

Yolanda has lived all over the world, but calls San Antonio, Texas home. She graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelor’s in Organizational and Corporate Communication, and a minor in International Politics. Her current role includes Pre-Closing and Powers of Attorney. Yolanda has one child, two dogs, and two cats. Outside of work, Yolanda loves anything involving art or animals for her and her daughter to enjoy. She loves traveling and immersing herself in different cultures/ ways of life, and is a fluent Spanish speaker.

Marya was born and raised in Evans, where she graduated from Georgia Military College with her associate in science in 2012. She has a background in the legal field and real closings. When not at work, you can find her kayaking or paddle boarding the river or spending quality time with her family and friends. She always a has a smile to brighten your day – and looks forward to greeting you when you walk in, or call, the Evans location!

Lauren Davis

Runner

Lauren was born in here in Augusta, GA and graduated from Evans High School. She is studying Criminal Justice at Augusta University and will be graduating this December. Her dream job is working for the FBI or CIA. She enjoys hanging out with friends, playing video games, and traveling. Her responsibilities include delivering and picking up documents from the courthouse and helping everything in the office stay organized.
